Radiology Clinic

The radiology clinic is most often organized into 6 sections: type of exam, clinical information, comparison, technique, findings, and impression

Department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging

Today radiological imaging is no longer limited to the use of X-rays alone, and includes technology-intensive imaging with high frequency sound waves, magnetic fields, and radioactivity. There is also Interventional Radiology, where minimal invasive procedures are done with the guidance of imaging technologies. The Radiology Department provides a wide range of diagnostic imaging services: including CT scanning, DEXA – Bone Density Scanning, Mammography, MRI scanning, , Ultrasound scanning, and X ray. Radiology can be classified broadly into Diagnostic Radiology and Therapeutic Radiology. Diagnostic Radiology includes, Chest Radiology, Abdominal & Pelvic Radiology, (sometimes termed “Body Imaging”), Interventional Radiology using imaging to guide therapeutic and angiographic procedures, Neuro Radiology involving the osseous spine and its neural contents, and head and neck imaging, Pediatric Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Mammography and Women’s Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasonography.

EQUIPMENTS AND FACILITIES

(IMAGES OF SCANNER AND MONITOR) Computed radiography (CR) rapidly replacing screen-film imaging systems in many countries. CR uses photostimulable phosphor (PSP) plates which must be transported to a digital scanner (or reader) and scanned with a laser beam to convert the stored image to a digital array. CR radiography uses the computer processing of the digital image, transmission and display of the digital image, and digital image storage. This system relies on picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) for transmission and storage of the digital images. Hospitals provide ultra fast CR Radiography for all kind of general imaging including musculoskeletal radiography, chest radiography, abdominal and portable radiography. Hospitals provide general and high resolution ultrasound imaging for abdomen, musculoskeletal, breast, neck, thyroid, obstetric and gynecological imaging. 3D and 4D ultrasound provides highly accurate fetal imaging to rule out congenital anomalies. Neurosonogram study is used for early detection of pediatric brain pathologies such as hemorrhage and focal lesion.

Color Doppler imaging

Color Doppler imaging is ultrasound based diagnostic technique used to diagnosis arterial and venous diseases like venous thrombosis, varicose veins and peripheral vascular diseases.

  • Carotid Doppler
  • Upper and lower limb arterial and venous study
  • Renal Doppler
  • Portal veins assessment
  • Obstetric Doppler
  • Doppler study of scrotum for varicocele and testicular torsion
  • Doppler study for varicose veins.
